Did you know that 1 in 3 teens will experience some kind of abuse within their intimate relationships before turning the age of 18? And less than 3% of youth survivors will tell a counselor, law enforcement agent, or teacher. However, 60% of youth survivors will tell a friend.

Teens are particularly susceptible for experiencing dating violence. They have limited dating experience, hypersensitive neuroanatomy, they receive mixed messages from friends, family, and society; there is a great fear of losing friends/community, there is peer pressure, concerns with confidentiality, as well as a general lack of actionable resources and societal power.
